Peter Crouch Hat-trick against Preston

In a spectacular match between the Preston and Tottenham, Peter Crouch scored three goals which helps the team to win with such a difference 5-1. Peter Crouch first attempt was blocked somehow but due to the subsequent attack of the Tottenham, Preston could not stand long. Preston was beaten at home for the first time after April. Now Tottenham booked their place in the fourth round of the Carling Cup. Preston was also attacking and looking for equalizer, but the in-form Spurs goalkeeper, Heurelho Gomes, was just a wall to all the incoming attacks. Let’s see what the managers of both the clubs said about the match.

Alan Irvine, Preston Manager:

“It is harsh on us but we have got to learn the lessons.

“We have got to be clinical with our chances and cannot afford to give opponents of their quality so many openings as they will carve you open.

“We knew the quality of their strikers and that we would need to defend well. I think we shot ourselves in the foot a little bit.”

Harry Redknapp, Tottenham Manager said:

“Preston is never an easy place to come and I felt it would be a tough game.

“A year ago we would never have won a game like this, but we took our goals well and always looked dangerous.

“We have got to keep going and hope that we get a decent draw in the next round of the competition.”

Jermain Defoe or Emile Heskey - Decision to be made

This may be the most important decision that has to be made in the history of football between two important players of England - Jermain Defoe and Emile Heskey. On Wednesday, England is going to play the most important match of the year against Croatia to qualify for the world cup. A similar match had been played in the year 2007 against Croatia in which England lost and as a result they missed the world cup. This time England does not want to make the same mistake and therefore the decision of choosing a particular player is very influential in this situation.

Defoe has a good reputation this time with five goals in his last three matches for England and back up of Heskey is equally strong as he played in the 4-1 qualifying victory against Croatia in Zagreb. The England coach, Fabio Capello, has already decided who is going to play for the Wednesday match with partnership of Rooney but he keeps the decision secret. Their victory is the main concern and who will play is not such important and also there is no any injury in his team of 25.

Capello said:

“More or less I have decided in my mind.”

And regarding the 2007 match against Croatia, he added:

“That match is too old, it was too long ago. It is history. I prefer to look at the next game. I do not speak about a game that they played two years ago. I have to motivate the players for Wednesday, not what happened two years ago. They will go into this game thinking about how we won in Croatia.”

New signings ban for Chelsea

The hottest news in the club business is the banning of Chelsea for signing new players for two years. Chelsea has been charged by the Football governing body Fifa for inducing Kakuta to breach the Lens’ deal in 2007. Kakuta joined Chelsea in 2007 by breaching the contract of Lens. Chelsea can appeal against the charge.

Meanwhile the player, Kakuta, has been charged with the fine money of £682,000 and Chelsea should pay an amount of £114,000 as a compensation fee for the training. This is really a great discovery by the football governing body Fifa. Also Lens has charged against the Chelsea for inducing their player for breaching the deal.

Fifa’s statement:

“The French club had lodged a claim with Fifa seeking compensation for breach of contract from the player and requesting also sporting sanctions to be imposed on the player and the English club for breach of contract and inducement to breach of contract. The DRC found that the player had indeed breached a contract signed with the French club. Equally, the DRC deemed it to be established that the English club induced the player to such breach.”

Arsenal made new deals with Bendtner and Denilson

Nicklas Bendtner and Denilson are two main players of Arsenal and the club took the right decision by renewing both the players for the long term basis. Bendtner, Denmark international scored 15 important goals in 50 appearance for Arsenal as striker and his performance helped Arsenal in many important matches. The Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, is happy with the performance of the striker.

Also Brazilian Denilson played the largest number of Premier League games and this clearly shows the importance of this player in the club. Arsenal has confirmed that they have renewed both the players for long term but they did not share for how long they made the deal with the players.

Wenger Said about Bendtner:

“He scored a number of important goals and will look to replicate that. It’s not just about the goals, his all round contribution has improved and will continue to do so. Nicklas has impressed me highly with his application and determination over the last season, you can see that he wants to compete at the highest level and win things with his team-mates.”

About Denilson:

“Denilson’s contribution to the club last season was outstanding. His work rate really was exceptional and it is valuable to have players that we know will perform to the very last minute in such a demanding league.”
