Gerrard wants continuous performance in Premier League
Steven Gerrard wants his team to continue their performance as they did in the starting of the season. This is the best start they ever had in their history of 12 years and he warned his team mates to continue their best to make a new record in the history of their team. On Saturday, Liverpool won the match against Everton in 2-0 and with this they become the second position in the Premier League.
The Wednesday match will be the great day of the team and they are going to play with Eindhven. A Fernando Torres is also continuing his contribution in the tournament and he is in the great form. The skipper Gerrard is very happy to see him back in form again.
About the match, Gerrard says:
“You can’t keep strikers with his talent down for long because they aren’t going to go long without a goal.
“It was only a matter of time. He was a bit frustrated first-half, but then [Robbie] Keane’s put one on a plate for him and the second one was typical Torres.
“As a local lad these are the most difficult games to prepare for. The nerves start the week before and you can’t wait for the game to come about, so the fear of losing these games takes up a lot of energy beforehand.”
UEFA Champions League Started and the results of the matches
Champions League is one of the most important football tournaments and many well known teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Barcelona and many other famous teams play in the tournaments. Now it is the season of excited football matches and fans all over the world are singing the anthems of their favorite football club or football team.
UEFA Champions League has started and there were matches between the teams in each group in the first day of the League. I am just sharing the results of the first day Champions League matches. In the group A, Chelsea won the match against Bordeaux with the great score of 4-0. It is a big win of Chelsea and they have a good start. Joe Cole, Lampard, Malouda and Anelka are the scorers of the four goals.
In another match of Group A, Roma lost in the hand of CFR Cluj-Napoca in 1-2. Such a reputed club like Roma lost in the first match of the League and they are going to face a bad time ahead with many strong teams.
In Group B, Inter Milan won the match against Panathinaikos and the other match ended with draw between Werder bremen and Anorthosis Famagusta. In the Group C, Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk won the matches against Sporting and Basle with the score 3-1 and 2-1 respectively. Liverpool and Atletico Madrid won the matches with the score 2-1 and 3-0 against Marseille and PSV respectively.
Another 5 years deal for Johnson
I don’t think Manchester City can play without Johnson because he is the play maker of the team and the team mainly depends on this player. As the boss of Man City knows the fact and also Johnson wants to play for the club, he signed for another five years in Manchester City and this means he will stay up to 2013 in the club.
Johnson is just 20 years old and he is the potential player of England and some day he will play an important role in the football history of England. He made his City debut in Oct. 2006 when he graduated from the youth academy of the club.
The former manager of the club Stuart Pearce made him inside the club and also featured under Sven-Goran Eriksson. He had a groin injury recently and now he is in the form to play for the club again. Manchester City can play equally with Chelsea on Saturday because of such new and good players only.
Manchester City Vs Chelsea - Really excited?
Robinho is going to play against Chelsea in the match between Manchester City and Chelsea. One of the advantages of Manchester City is that Michael Ballack is not going to play in the match because of the injury in the foot.
Still many players are back to the team after injury like John Mikel Obi but Joe Cole is in trail for fitness. Pablo Zabaleta and Micah Richards of Man City may be available for the match.

Argentina won the soccer tournament
Argentina is the winner of the grand finale soccer. Argentina struggled hard with Nigeria to win the tournament. Angel Di Maria is the star who is responsible for the winning of the team and he scored the goal in the 58th minute of the match.
Argentina struggled hard to hold the goal as Nigeria was in the attacking position after Argentina made a goal. It was evenly played and the match was very exciting. It was just like the recap of 1996 world cup when Nigeria won by 3-2 to become the first African team to win the soccer tournament in Olympics.
The 25-metre out swinging shot of Di Maria was spectacular and it gained confidence in the heart of Argentina players. Messi was also in a good from in the match and he contributes a lot in the winning of the team.
Nicolas Pareja and Sergio Romero saved Argentina from losing by blocking few wonderful attacks from Nigeria. Altogether, the attack of Nigeria was beautiful and Obinna did some critical attacks which their teammates missed to give support.
Manchester United and Pompey in the first match
The first match of the season is going to be start tomorrow and there will be great match between Man Utd and Pompey. The Manchester United is not in good condition because most of the main players are not in good health and many important players are missing the match. The manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson said that the Community Shield will be used for the improvement of health and fitness of the players.
We will witness the must exciting match tomorrow which is the opening of the season that most of the football fans are eagerly waiting for. On the other side, Pompey or Portsmouth is in great form and we will witness an exciting match between Pompey and United tomorrow. Christina will not be playing tomorrow because of the ankle surgery which has been recently carried out.
And also Manchester United is under pressure because of the pre-season injuries of Owen, Ben Foster, Saha and park Ji-Sung who are all the leading players of the club. Tony Adams who is managing Portsmouth says he always loves beating United like Alex always wants to beat Liverpool. Tony Adams was the captain of England and was playing for Arsenal.
