Expanding Euro Championship or not?
What do you think about the expansion of Euro Championship? Is it good or bad? Is it possible or not possible? Many questions arise from different corners of the world about the expansion of Euro Championship. But there was a general meeting about the Euro Championship and it has been said by one of the well known member of European Fifa executive member, Franz Beckenbuaer that the Euro Championship is going to expand up to 24 teams from the current 18 teams.
Many members of the committee are supporting the proposal but anonymously. And also football fans all over the world are thinking that expansion of Euro Championship will bring more heat and excitement in the tournament and it will also increase the popularity of the tournament.
But some executive members are thinking that if the number of teams has been increased to 24 which is almost double, then the responsibility will increase and also there will be some problem in controlling such a large number. There will be elimination round which means lengthens the process of tournament. But most probably the number will be increased up to 24 and the result will be announced on the Friday.
Chelsea Draws with Man United
It was one of the most exciting matches in the Premier League between the two big teams “Chelsea” and “Manchester United”. The game ends with draw 1-1 goal from each side but there was a strong competition between the two teams. First, Man Utd’s Ji-Sung Park scored the goal in the 18th minute of the match but at the starting of the match Chelsea missed a great chance of Joe Cole. He ran clear afetr appearing to use his hand and it was “Just Missed” attack of the team.
Many important players of United like Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez were in the bench only but Wayne Rooney and Berbatov were playing their part very well. In the Chelsea side also Deco did not play due to some injury in the warm-up session but the inclusion of Michael Ballack makes the team even stronger.
Van der Sar had been replaced in the 31st minute before of the some knee injury by his substitute and this makes it easy for the Chelsea to return the goal in the 80th minute of the match. Salomon Kalou helped Chelsea to draw with the Red Devil and also helped to maintain the status of the team in the Premier League.
Manchester City takeover
I can’t believe that Manchester City which is one of the biggest clubs in the world is going to be taken over by foreign investors. The Manchester City boss, Mark Hughes, revealed the fact that the takeover of the club is going to complete by the end of the week.
They are in the process of finalizing the buy-out from Thaksin Shinawatra. The offer from the foreign investors have already been accepted at the start of the month and the due diligence process will be over soon.
Robinho was recently signed to the club with £32.5m which is a huge amount and this means that the club has already invested such a great amount to acquire the power of the club. Now the club is expecting a flood of new money to spend in the January transfer window.
Also the foreign investor Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim is happy to invest in such a big club and he is ready to invest any amount to such a leading club of the world. Till now, the team has lost in two matches and won two matches.
Cricket curves its way like Football
I would say football is more exciting game than cricket but many cricket lovers would not agree with me. May be they are right because the new dimension of cricket, that is, Indian Cricket League (ICL or IPL) makes the game more interesting and now they are similar to the football. They have changed the cricket into the way of football which means that football is a more advance game because cricket is following the way of football.
This is not the topic of discussion and I am just sharing my thoughts. Nadeem Malik who performed very well in the first season signed for two more years with grace Road and he will play for the club up to 2010. He has an excellent performance with 42 Championship wickets in the first season.
And also many Bangladesh players are now ready to join ICL because they think that this is the new dimension of the cricket and avoiding this League means they are not in the new dimension of the cricket. But the association of cricket of Bangladesh is completely against the idea of joining ICL because they think that it is business of the game. They do not want to loss the prestige of the players by playing the game for money. Even the team captain Aminul Islam is trying to stop the players from joining ICL.

UEFA Champions League Started and the results of the matches
Champions League is one of the most important football tournaments and many well known teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Barcelona and many other famous teams play in the tournaments. Now it is the season of excited football matches and fans all over the world are singing the anthems of their favorite football club or football team.
UEFA Champions League has started and there were matches between the teams in each group in the first day of the League. I am just sharing the results of the first day Champions League matches. In the group A, Chelsea won the match against Bordeaux with the great score of 4-0. It is a big win of Chelsea and they have a good start. Joe Cole, Lampard, Malouda and Anelka are the scorers of the four goals.
In another match of Group A, Roma lost in the hand of CFR Cluj-Napoca in 1-2. Such a reputed club like Roma lost in the first match of the League and they are going to face a bad time ahead with many strong teams.
In Group B, Inter Milan won the match against Panathinaikos and the other match ended with draw between Werder bremen and Anorthosis Famagusta. In the Group C, Barcelona and Shakhtar Donetsk won the matches against Sporting and Basle with the score 3-1 and 2-1 respectively. Liverpool and Atletico Madrid won the matches with the score 2-1 and 3-0 against Marseille and PSV respectively.
The fate of John Terry
John Terry was sent off the field at the 77th minute of the match. It was a great victory of Chelsea over Manchester City 3-1 but the decision of referee was quite doubtful and the Chelsea Manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is thinking to talk to higher authority and players about the red card of John Terry.
The Chelsea Boss Luiz Felipe Scolari says he needs to watch the game again in TV before he speaks out. But he is not happy with the decision of referee. Scolarai said that he didn’t see the incident but ready to speak to the club hierarchy and players before taking any move.
The striker Jo was trying to sent through on goal and Terry was pulling him down. But Ricardo Carvalho was behind his defensive partner. But the fate of John Terry depends on whether the red card will be upheld or not. If the red card is upheld, then he is going to miss many important matches in the near future.
He will not be able to present in the Sunday’s key Premier League game against Manchester United. Further, he will miss Chelsea’s visit to Portsmouth for the Carling Cup. Even the manager of Man City thought that the decision was incorrect and the referee was little bit erratic.
