Premier League and Asian Football Confederation - Tie up

It is the not the thing that you are thinking when you saw the heading. It the business world ‘tie up’ means two business companies have lost their funds and tie up to work together to survive. Now in the world of club football, the two tournaments tie up to improve the relationship between the different football organizations and also to enhance the skills of the football players.

It is the hottest news of the football clubs that Premier League Chief executives Richard Scudamore and Asian Football Confederation president Mohammed Bin Hammam discussed about a plan to link up the two football tournaments. This new target of the two football associations may results in the playing of the 39th Premier League game in Asia.

Hammam was a critic of the Premier League for playing the tournament aboard and also plays an important role in the possibility of Premier League in Asia. But Scudamore took the link up as an offer to the Asia teams at the grassroots level.

Mohammed Bin Hammam said:

“This is the first time for a league and a confederation to join forces. We had many questions. What kind of legacy are the teams going to leave behind? Does the club just collect the money and go home or are they going to leave something behind? Now we know there will be benefits to Asian Football. Our fans will benefit, our youth will benefit and our coaches will benefit. They will be coming here based on our approval.”

Richard Scudamore said:

“We had a meeting with the 20 clubs to explore the possibility of playing games abroad in a year and it created a media frenzy. People approached it as though teams were on a plane ready to go but it was really just the start of a process. It will likely start with five or six clubs at an operational and coaching level. I doubt it will extend to joint commercial arrangements. We want to show some solidarity with the AFC with the relaunching of the Champions League.”

Ian Walker Leaves Bolton

Ian Walker who was the goalkeeper of England leaves Bolton under some dizzy circumstances. It was not clear why he left the club and how. He was the keeper of England and made eight appearances but the most contradict part is that none were in the Premier League. He was transferred from Leicester in 2005.

About the incident Gary Megson, who is the boss of Bolton, said:

“It was a case of sitting down with Ian and doing what was right for Bolton and most importantly for Ian. The emergence of Ali Al Habsi was terrific last season so we’ve come to an agreement and wish Ian well.”

The decision was made after sitting down with Ian and the manager but it is not clear what was there in the discussion which makes the Bolton boss to take the decision.

Premier League Footballer - Marlon King Arrested

It is a very rare case in such a discipline game like football. I couldn’t believe when I heard the news for the first time. Marlon King who is the striker of the Hull City was arrested accused of assaulting a woman in a bar. The incident happened in the central London on Sunday in the bar and he attended a police station voluntarily.

A police spokesman said that he assaulted allegedly a 20 years old woman at a bar called “Soho Revue Bar at Brewer Street. He has been released on bail but the police personals refused on comment on the ground why and how he has been released.

Also King is in loan from Wigan Athletic but has played 15 times for Hull City in the PLF. Also he plays a major role in the club and scored the winning score on Saturday and Hull won the match 2-1.

A tie of Chelsea and CFR Cluj

The Champions League has arrived to the crucial knock out stage and now each and every team is fighting with heart and soul whether they are big team or small team. Chelsea face a tie with CFR Cluj in such a crucial stage which make a pose to the Champions League of Chelsea whether they will be qualified for the knock out or not.

But Scolari, the coach of Chelsea, said that it was nothing tough for him to manage such a situation and it is nothing like managing Brazil as in Brazil every individual is a coach. And also he insisted that it would not be a disaster even if Chelsea failed to qualify for the knock out round of the Champions League for the first time.

Scolari Said:

“Do you know how many people live in Brazil? All the people there are coaches. “Do you know how many people live in Brazil? All the people there are coaches. This is only one more game. It is important for our qualification for the next phase,” added the former Portugal manager. It is the same as other games because we need three points. If we win, we are in the next phase. It is not the most important game of the season - it is one more game. If we lose, then maybe were are out. It is possible. If we lose and we are out of the Champions League, I will not feel good. But no more than that. This is life, this is football.”

Madjid Bougherra is satisfied with Rangers

As everyone knows, defender plays a very important role in football. I play in defending position and therefore I love those players who play in the defending positions. Well, Madjid Bougherra is one of such players who play in the defending position and play very well in this season.

The 26 year old defender, Bougherra, started his career in club football from his first club FC Gueugnon and then made a deal with English football as he signed for Crewe in January 2006. Then he continued his journey in Sheffield and Charlton. Currently he is playing for Rangers and he plays very well with this club.

What Bougherra about his experience in the club:

“I am very comfortable here and I am staying. I have my agent and he never calls me until January or the end of a season, but I’ve told him I’m very happy with Rangers and want to stay on.”

Maradona in Kolkata (Calcutta)

I couldn’t believe that Maradona visited Kolkata (Calcutta) which is one of the famous cities of India for football. Kolkata people are crazy about football and I guess Maradona set feet on the right place. People used to see his match in TV only and now the people of Kolkata got an opportunity to see the real Maradona who is the legend of football and now the coach of Argentina.

It was really a great surprise for the people of Kolkata but for the police it was the toughest task ever. Maradona reached Kolkata on Friday midnight and left on Monday morning. During his stay in Calcutta, he visited the stadium of Mohun Bagan Club and also he set the foundation of a football academy in the city. Also he visited the missionaries set up by Mother Teresa and offered prayers with the nuns. The whole city becomes live with Maradona in the city. But I was really amazed when Maradona present in India in the present terrorist threat in India.

Now let’s see the feedback of the people and some officials.

Police Chief, Gautam Mohan Chakrabarty:

“Calcuttans are mad about football and they went into a frenzy over Maradona. This was no less than handling a terror strike.”

Sports Minister Subhas Chakrabarty:

“The security arrangements collapsed in most places because the crowds were huge and uncontrollable. Also blame the media for creating chaos in most places.”

Kolkata Crowd:

“He is God for us, so we touch his feet. Calcutta had gone into a shell following the terror alerts. Maradona’s visit has erased our fears of a terror strike and Calcutta is back to its noisy self.”
