The Carling Cup semi-final match between Manchester United and Manchester City on Wednesday will be a great match for both the teams. For Manchester City, this is the first time that they have come so far in a league. This time they are playing at their home and it would be an advantage for them.
Manchester United on the other hand is expecting to produce a far superior performance in the match. They have already lost a match against Leeds in FA Cup and this is the first time lost in Sir Alex Ferguson’s 23 year tenure in the third round.
Also following this match, Manchester City is planning for the window transfer and recruiting new players in the club. The news has already been spread to the media that Manchester City is planning for some good transfer but Man City boss Mancini do not want to talk about the transfer before the important match on Wednesday.
Manchester City Boss, Roberto Mancini, said:
“We can talk about other things after the derby - at the moment the most important thing is our match against Manchester United. But it is normal that so many players want to join Manchester City. That situation is normal because Man City is a big club which is going to have a big future. People are talking about Patrick Vieira, they are also saying Ivan Cordoba and Christian Chivu, and they are all very good players. But right now, we have two games to focus on and if we play well then we have the chance to play a final at Wembley. This season, if it is possible, we can win a trophy. As for the rest - we will see after the derby.”
Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United Boss, said:
“We have to get this result out of our system as quickly as possible. We have a semi-final on Wednesday and a lot of those players won’t be playing. You have to view this performance in the right light, but we’ll make sure we’re ready for Wednesday now. We had a team in mind for the game, but there will maybe be a few changes for that.”
