The Merseyside bar case of Liverpool captain Gerrard is extending and more footballers are getting involved in the case. Two more footballers have been charged for the same incident, Ian Dunbavin, Accrington Stanley’s goalkeeper and Robert Grant, midfielder of the same club.
Gerrard was charged for the incident happened on 29 December in the Lounge Inn in Southport and he is on bail and will appear before the magistrates on 20 March. It is quite surprising how many footballers are charged for the same assaulting case.
John Doran, 29, and Ian Smith, 19, both from Huyton are facing the same charge as the Gerrard. And also another person from Huyton, Paul McGrattan, has been charged for affray and assaulting a police officer. All the three players from Huyton will appear before the magistrates.
We can recall that a 34-year-old man was injured in the face in the bar case of Gerrard. Now many players are on the bail and have been charged for assaulting people. Where is the discipline of football games and how can such great players can do such irresponsible acts?
