In a very rare case, missiles were thrown to the referee, Trevor Kettle, during a match between Luton and Bradford. In the league, Luton is in the last position but the draw match against Bradford helped them to make their points positive.
Missiles were thrown to the referee when he sent off the Buton’s player, Chris Martin, and awarded penalty at the ending of the match which helped Bradford to make the game draw. The match was draw with 3-3 score.
Buton has been facing the lowest position in the league with negative points because of the many misconduct. Points were deducted from this team for many different reasons like involving with a third party, failing to satisfy League’s insolvency rules and many other reasons.
Football Association spokesman said:
“We are looking into the incident involving the referee at the end of the game. Mention of missiles being thrown was brought to our attention in the referee’s report. We will be liaising with the club and the police to try to identify individuals. We want to see the strongest possible sanctions taken against those people who may have been involved in this incident.”
