Many clubs are facing the financial problems due to the less sponsorship from the companies and also due to the economic crisis of different nations. There are some clubs which are even going to sell out some of their players and also in the worst case, to sell the club to the new owner.

The Scottish Football League has handed its member clubs £300,000 payment to help with the financial conditions of all the clubs. The chief executive, David Longmuir, of the Scottish Football League, sanctioned the payment to the 30 clubs of the SFL.

The sponsorship deals with Irn-Bru and Co-operative Insurance make it possible for the Scottish Premier League to help all the member clubs of the SPL.

David Longmuir said:

“To the bigger SFL clubs £10,000 may not seem like a lot of money. Go down the scale though and it will mean a lot.”
